How Our Program Works

At Lunch Lady TX, we make nutritious school meals simple for families while supporting schools in meeting childcare nutrition standards.
Families enjoy the flexibility of choosing meals their children will love, while our system is thoughtfully designed to guide selections that support balanced nutrition.

 Smart Ordering, Balanced Meals

During the ordering process, families are prompted to select the components needed for a complete meal, including:

•A protein or meat alternate
•A whole grain-rich item

•A fruit
•A vegetable

This structure helps ensure that each meal aligns with CACFP meal pattern guidelines when all components are selected.

Behind the Scenes: We Help Fill the Gaps

We understand that children’s preferences and parent selections don’t always result in a perfectly balanced plate—and that’s okay.

When a selected meal is missing a required component, our team may supplement the meal with additional items (such as fruits, vegetables, or grains) to support a complete and nourishing offering.

These additions are made thoughtfully and with the goal of ensuring every child is served a well-rounded meal.

 Meal Completion & Nutritional Support

At Lunch Lady TX, we are committed to ensuring that every child is offered a balanced and complete meal.

If a selected meal does not include all components required to align with CACFP meal pattern guidelines, we may supplement the meal with additional items (such as fruits, vegetables, or grains) to support a well-rounded offering.

These additions are thoughtfully selected to complement the meal and promote balanced nutrition for children.

 Allergen Awareness

We offer vegetarian options and strive to be mindful of common allergens in all menu offerings. All Lunch Lady TX meals are prepared without peanuts or tree nuts as ingredients.

However, meals are prepared in a shared commercial kitchen where common allergens may be present, including dairy, wheat, eggs, soy, shellfish, and nuts. While we take precautions to minimize cross-contact, we cannot guarantee an allergen-free environment.

For children with severe allergies or specific dietary needs, we encourage families to consult with their school and healthcare provider when determining if our program is the right fit.

Nutrition & Compliance Statement

At Lunch Lady TX, we are committed to providing balanced, nourishing meals that support the growth and development of young children.

Each meal is planned to include:

•A whole grain-rich component

•A fresh vegetable

•A fresh fruit

•Milk service when required by the school

Portion sizes are prepared with age-appropriate CACFP serving guidelines in mind to ensure children receive a well-balanced meal.
